I don't speak of the nation where divisions all start,
but of everything human, of mind and of heart.
May the light growing through us reveal this to us,
a face that emerges behind broken parts.

May the ones gone before and the ones yet to come
all mothers and daughters, all fathers and sons,
may all the half-truths and the abuse that's been done
come glowing together in this rising of the sun.
